COMMUNITYSPOTLIGHT -

Fundraising

We wanted to acknowledge the following community members who have taken the time to plan, organize, and hold fundraisers for Autism York. We are constantly amazed and grateful for the community’s support of our organization!

  • We wanted to extend our sincere appreciation to Mack Madness for donating $2,000 to Autism York, honoring their late daughter, McKenzie, who passed away due to complications from Leukemia in February of 2009. We appreciate your continued support!

  • The dedicated workers of the Sprenkle Village Garden Club have donated $400! Its members sow and harvest fruits and vegetable throughout the growing seasons. These are then purchased by residents of their Village, by donation. Thank you for your on-going support!

  • Many thanks toDiane Spangler, Independent Consultant for Thirty-One Gifts. For the months of April and May, she donated 10% of her sales to Autism York, resulting in $58!

  • Melissa Miller of Shuckin' for Autism, donated $15, which represents 10% of her sales from her business of customers shucking oysters and revealing pearls. Thank you!

Our Mission
The mission of Autism York is to provide support to individuals on the autism spectrum, their parents, families and friends. Our group exists for the sole purpose of providing support in a safe and friendly environment. It is the intention of Autism York as a group to promote understanding and respect of all families and the choices they make regarding therapies and interventions. Through this group we will offer opportunities for families and individuals on the autism spectrum to learn, grow, and develop relationships that help guide one another through this journey.

Autism York is first and foremost a family support group. Nothing we do is intended to provide therapeutic benefit. Autism York strongly encourages families and individuals to utilize and rely on the advice of professional service providers as indicated by their individual situations. The information and resources we provide are not intended to be a substitute for professional advice.
