🎉Cheers to Barbara N.!
This month’s Cheers spotlight shines bright on Barbara Nemec from Fawn Area Elementary! Barbara was nominated by her co-workers for exemplifying the Chartwells value of Learning, which means focusing on getting it right, not just being right. In only her second year, Barbara has wowed her team by constantly picking up new skills, facing challenges with confidence, and bringing her signature smile to every shift.
Her teammates say she loves working with students, enjoys her role in the kitchen, and is always serving up positivity alongside the meals. Whether she’s plating lunch or lending a helping hand, Barbara’s dedication and cheerful attitude make her a true recipe for success. Way to go, Barbara, you’ve cooked up something amazing!
Dip'n Into Flavor: New Sauces, Big Smiles
Chartwells is introducing new dipping sauces across the South Eastern School District and recently debuted the first round: the signature Chartwells Sauce and a Southwest Ranch served with chicken poppers and waffle fries. The tasting was a huge success, with enthusiastic student response and many students asking for lids so they could take their favorite sauces home.
We at Chartwells within the South Eastern School District are excited for students and staff to try these new flavors and even more varieties coming soon. We look forward to continuing to make lunchtime tastier and more enjoyable for everyone.
🎉 Say Hello to Kammie, Our Newest Smiling Face in the SESD Cafeteria! 🍽️
We’re thrilled to welcome Kammie to the SESD family! As our newest cafeteria team member, she’s already bringing warmth, kindness, and a sprinkle of joy to every lunch period. Whether she’s serving up your favorite meal or sharing a friendly hello, Kammie’s presence makes our cafeteria feel even more like home.
Her favorite season is Fall, just like the cozy vibes she brings to our kitchen, and she absolutely loves Christmas, so expect some extra cheer when the holidays roll around! Poetry is her go-to read when she wants to unwind.
Kammie lives by the powerful quote: “People cry not because they're weak, it's because they've been strong for too long.” – Johnny Depp. It’s a reminder of the strength and compassion she brings to our school every day.
We’re so excited for you to meet her. Stop by the cafeteria and say hi! 💚
🍽️Go GO Lunch Rangers🦸‍♀️
Squad Up, Fuel Up, SEMS Lunch Rangers Activate!
Chartwells teams across the district have launched the school year with heroic energy, and nowhere is that more evident than at South Eastern Middle School (SEMS), where the kitchen crew struck their best Power Rangers poses to kick off the year! With teamwork, school spirit, and a whole lot of flavor, the SEMS team is serving up healthy, delicious meals that fuel students for success. Just like the Rangers say: “Together, we serve with power!”
But the excitement doesn’t stop there. Across all our schools, from SEIS to Kennard-Dale cafeterias are cooking up a mouthwatering mix of new flavors and classic favorites. Students can look forward to fresh salads, creamy parfaits, and the exciting new pepperoni French bread pizza. And for a bold twist, SEIS is now serving elote, the flavorful Mexican street corn that older students at Kennard-Dale may fondly remember. Now, our 5th and 6th graders get to enjoy this tasty treat too!
So why pack a lunch when a tray full of great food, good friends, and fun is waiting in the cafeteria? Come join the adventure and discover what delicious surprises are in store. Let’s make this school year mighty delicious, one bite at a time!
Parents, we need your help! Encourage your child to give school meals a try. Our cafeterias are more than just a place to eat, they’re a space to connect, explore new flavors, and build healthy habits. With nutritious options and exciting new dishes, every lunch is a chance to fuel learning and make memories. Let’s work together to make mealtime a highlight of the school day!

A Tribute to Art, Our Cherished Delivery Driver
Our Wednesdays are brighter thanks to our beloved Sysco delivery driver, Art. When Art walks in with his cheerful greeting, it instantly lifts our spirits & sets a positive tone for the day. His bright smile & friendly demeanor have turned him from a delivery driver into a cherished friend across the SESD kitchens. With Art handling our delivery needs, we know everything is taken care of efficiently & with a touch of humor. He approaches his work with dedication & kindness.
The ladies of Chartwells truly appreciate the care and effort he puts into every interaction. As we look forward to summer break, we can’t help but feel a sense of sadness at the thought of not seeing Art every week. He has become an integral part of our Chartwells family, and we will miss his kindness and positive energy.
Thank you, Art, for being such a wonderful part of our lives at Chartwells; we can’t wait to welcome you back!
